We revisited the Maori vowels - A E I O U
Here are some of the Maori words we have collected this week:
Arewhana - elephant.
Homai te pakipaki - give someone a clap
Whangarei - we practised pronouncing this correctly.
Tauranga - we practised pronouncing this correctly. (Tow - ra - nga)
Kaupapa
Kia Kaha - Be strong
We practised saying the double vowel sounds:
ai, oa, ua, ia, ea, ui
Some of us found them quite tricky to say.
We practised saying these with Whaea Trish.
I love being in class when Whaea Trish is teaching Te Reo - I learn a lot of new things too :)
